Experience
Catherine Bartholomew is based in Rochester, Kent where she has been teaching since 2004. She teaches workshops around the UK and is a tutor for the JWAAD Bellydance Teacher Training courses; developing dancers’ knowledge of the history, culture and music of bellydance as well as how to teach it safely.
Catherine has been a soloist with Josephine Wise’s dance company Johara since it’s formation in 2007 and had fun cultivating her evil side playing the part of the jealous Queen Narcissa in their latest show “The Mirror”.
She has a background in Theatre Studies and loves to use her performance skills in creating energetic and entertaining dances. She has developed a love of fan veils which compliment her theatrical style of dance.
Catherine has also been organising bellydance events for over a decade. Hosting workshops with guest teachers, putting on teacher networking days and her Sevenveils showcase every year. She is now joining forces with Chloe Kenny to bring a brand new bellydance festival to Kent – Shimmy & Shine!
