About

Piano lessons are great for children and teach them so much more than just musical skills. They increase dexterity, concentration, memory function, self-discipline and have many other benefits. Maybe you're an adult and always dreamed of learning to play the piano, why not now? You're never too old to begin. Or maybe you played a bit when younger and now have the time and motivation to take it up again. That's what happened to me!

There will be a couple of spaces for new pupils opening up soon🎹. Do get in touch if you're interested

Experience

WELCOME

I have been teaching adults and children from my home in Sandgate for 12 years now. Lessons should always be fun and leave you longing to go and play some more. We will cover a broad range of musical styles and tailor learning to your personal goals and preferences.

I love teaching beginners, whether you're 6 or 60+, partnering with you as you discover the joy of playing, reading and creating music. Each person learns in a unique way and I will always tailor lessons to your particular style and needs.

Maybe you used to play and now you have time to pick it up again, refresh and develop your skills further. That was my story!

    Testimonials

Cath teaches my daughter Polly with fun and engaging books and stickers. We have great fun playing together and Polly loves to show others what she can play. Cath also teaches me and is a genuine genius. She has taught me to read music, explaining clearly, correcting technique with humour, always calm, collected and loveable. The laughs we have make the lessons enjoyable and I count down the time till I see her again.

I started seeing Cath after a 20 year gap away from playing piano. With her patience and calming demeanour she soon had me back to playing Beethoven, Chopin and Bach. Cath will tailor lessons to how you learn and is happy to teach whatever you want to play. I can’t recommend her enough.

    Fees

Lessons will include musical learning in many different forms. This will include playing pieces, technical exercises, listening skills and understanding theory so music can be both read and written.

Beginners usually start with a 30 minute lesson and then progress to 45 or 60 minutes when they are ready. This enables much quicker progress as we can cover so much more each week.

    30 minutes for £15 45 minutes for £22 60 minutes for £28
