Menopause wellbeing
The menopause can be a challenging transition. Some women ride the wave pretty much effortlessly while many of us experience physical and emotional pains for years. Yoga is a powerful tool to help regulate our nervous system, ease tension in the body and support us in welcoming change.
Menopause Yoga™️ is specifically adapted for women in peri-menopause, menopause and post menopause. It fuses modern medical science with eastern wellbeing practices to support women on their journey towards their second spring.
Menopause can be an opportunity for health, empowerment and self-knowledge. The yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation help provide relief from menopause symptoms, calm the mind, find ease in the body and build bone and muscles strength. The workshops and classes also offer a safe and supportive space for women to come together.
The yoga practice is accessible to both beginners and seasoned yoga practitioners, but requires to be able to come down and up from the floor.
Golden Yoga - Seniors
As we journey through midlife and beyond, the principles of yoga, including movement, mindfulness, and breath control, become invaluable allies in enhancing our overall health and vitality.
Our 60-minute group sessions are thoughtfully tailored to address the specific needs of the senior community, with private sessions available upon request.
Golden Yoga approach involves a combination of seated and standing exercises, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer not to transition to and from the floor.
Each class encompasses a blend of gentle physical poses, functional movements, breathing techniques, and relaxation.
No prior yoga experience is necessary; the classes cater to a broad spectrum of abilities, allowing each participant to engage at a comfortable pace. Various modifications are provided throughout the session, ensuring everyone can opt to intensify or ease their practice as needed.
The class environment is inviting and supportive, creating the perfect setting for building connections and friendships while we engage in our collective yoga journey.
Falls Prevention
Falls need not be a natural part of aging. There are ways to prevent them. According to the NHS, around a third of people aged 65 and over, and half of people aged 80 and over, fall at least once a year. Even without injury, a fall can cause distress, loss of confidence, and loss of independence. However, a third of those falls are preventable. So, don’t wait for a fall to happen, the secret to successful fall prevention is action.
Standing Strong is a fall prevention workshop that aims at debunking myths about falls and most importantly provide a wide range of tools that will help prevent them; including staying safe at home and outside and most importantly yoga-inspired exercises and practices that help improve balance, strength, and coordination.
This fall prevention workshop will weave discussion with yoga practice with the objective to give you clear guidance on what you can do in your everyday life to prevent falls.
Wellbeing Programmes for the NHS Building Resilient & Healthy Communities Evidence based health & wellbeing programmes that fuse the wisdom of ancient practices with modern medical science. Programme outcomes have been validated by the University of Westminster.
Experience
Where it all began…
On that beach, one summer, my friend and long-term yoga practitioner, Anne, offered me to join her for a yoga practice. It was my first real experience of yoga and to this day I still remember this moment.
Back in Singapore, where I lived at the time, I signed up for yoga classes at the nearest studio. I never looked back! Needless to say that I am forever grateful to Anne.
Yoga has become an essential part of my life. It helps me make the most of my good days and cope with my bad days. This practice taught me the importance of self care and helped me discover and connect with my body in a whole new light.
I am on a journey…sharing what I learn along the way with the wonderful people who join my classes.
Born and raised in France, I lived and worked in South East Asia for many years before settling down in the gorgeous English countryside where I now live with my family.
my yoga… The classes I teach are strongly influenced by my own practice and the inspiration I draw from the teachers I learn from, both on and off the mat. The class sequences change regularly, yet they build upon one another so there is a sense of progression.
With yoga, we learn to cultivate the secret pause between the in-breath and the out-breath, between the stimulus and the response where lies our freedom to choose.
