Stagg Health & Fitness is the realisation of a lifelong dream. Having been an avid fitness fanatic most of my life, I made it my mission to qualify as a personal trainer and to build a state of the art fully equipped fitness studio in the heart of Sussex. Stagg Studios is a female only gym designed as a safe space for women to train effectively. I want to empower women to regain confidence through strength training and improved nutrition. I contacted Lucy at Stagg Health & Fitness looking for help with how I could get back to feeling better about my body. She started out by asking me to take my measurements and give her some background information about my eating and exercise habits. Writing all of this down felt surprisingly personal and emotional to me but Lucy was fantastic in her response. She picked out the positive aspects of what I had written to build and capitalise on, and gently advised on how I could make changes to bad habits like alcohol consumption for example. She also suggested an app to use to really put what I was consuming under the microscope.
Next she led me through a fitness test to give me a baseline to start from. From here she wrote programs personal to me and my needs, targeting certain key areas. Sessions with Lucy are never the same, you never get bored and are always challenged. I definitely need that otherwise I know there is temptation to give up!
Having two young children and working, it’s always a mission to prioritise fitness, but Lucy understands, (having children herself) and we find times that work around family, meeting once a week for an intensive session. I really look forward to training with Lucy, not only so she can monitor my progress, but also to get guidance on how to progress with my weight training.
Lucy works you hard, but supports and encourages you through workouts so well that the pain really is manageable! Throughout the past months training with Lucy she has written numerous other workouts that I do a few other times a week, ranging from 30minute HIIT workouts to longer weight sessions. Really anything I ask for, Lucy accommodates. On top of this when I have, for example felt tired or have had raging PMT, Lucy has toned down workouts or sent top tips and supportive messages which really have helped to get me up and working out, alleviating those hormonal feelings!
Lucy’s whole demeanor is so positive and motivational, that I challenge anyone to not get caught up in it! The Stagg Fitness approach is all about health; looking after your body by combining good nutrition with exercise. Thankfully I feel totally different about myself these days. Working on my health and fitness with Lucy is an investment, and I am so thrilled I have decided to make it here.
I CANNOT recommend Lucy and Stagg Health & Fitness enough!
